Prof. Dr. YUSRIL IHZA MAHENDRA, S.H., M.Sc.

Yusril Ihza Mahendra is a Professor in Constitutional Law at University of Indonesia. He earned his Bachelor of Laws Degree from University of Indonesia in 1983 and continued his postgraduate study also at University of Indonesia in Islamic Science and Law program.
He then took a Postgraduate Study in Social Sciences and Humanities at Punjab University Pakistan in 1985. He took another postgraduate program at Doctoral Education Institute, Universiti Sains Malaysia to earn a Master of Science (M.Sc.) Degree and continued his study there shortly after where he completed his doctorate degree (1990-1993).
Before establishing this law firm, he has such a diverse respectable positions as Head of Legal Bureau of Republic of Indonesia’s House of Representatives Information Service and Assesment Center, Researcher Staff at Islamic Research Institution for Communities Research and Development, Staff of Secretariat Office of the Republic of Indonesia, Member of the Intellectual Representative Group of Indonesia’s House of Consultative Assembly, Expert Team of Globalization Effects for National Research Board, Assistant to the State Secretary Minister for Special Affairs, and Member of Indonesia House of Representative.
He was a lecturer in some respectable universities such as Faculty of Law in University of Indonesia, Muhammadiyah University, Community Study College of Republic of Indonesia’s Ministry of Justice, and As Syafi’iyah Islamic University. He also lectured postgraduate study at University of Indonesia, Muhammadiyah University, and Jaya Baya University. Professor Yusril is frequently asked as a speaker for seminars and workshops at national and international levels and has written several books, as well as articles in various international journals, magazines and newspapers.
In governmental area, he served as Minister of Law and Legislation, Ministier of Justice and Human Rights and also as Minister State of Secretary of the Republic of Indonesia. Currently, he is a Managing Director of IHZA & IHZA Law Firm.

YUSRON IHZA, LL.M., Ph.D.

Yusron Ihza is one of the initiator of IHZA & IHZA Law Firm. He studied international relation and earned his bachelor’s degree from University of Indonesia in 1986 In 1990, he carried out a research at Tsukuba University Japan and earned his Master of Law Degree from the university and earned a Ph.D. degree in 1998.
He began his career as a researcher at the Institute for Economic and Social Research, Education and Information (LP3ES), lecturer, and then become a researcher at the Institute for Economic and Communities Research of University of Indonesia, and subsequently become a researcher for TARA Project at University of Tsukuba.
He once was a correspondent in Japan for Kompas Daily Newspaper, a lecturer at Nihon University, Expert Staff of Minister of Industry and Trade, Chairman of Indonesia-Japan Parliamentary League, Vice Chairman of Commission one of the House of Representatives, and a lecturer at President University. He is also active in writing various publications in Indonesia, Japanese, and English language.
He was assigned as the Ambassador of Republic of Indonesia to Japan for 3 years (2013-2016). Currently he holds a position as a Legal Director in this firm. His main area of practice include business law, Japanese Law, investment and political economic.

Yusmiati Ihza graduated from Faculty of Social and Political Science in University of Indonesia in 1989, then earned her Master of Management Degree from Pancasila Unversity in 2001.
She worked at PT. Tambang Timah (1989), then at BAPPENAS (National Development Planning Agency) as Indonesia State Analysis Project Staff (1989-1990), and also involved in General Planning for Jakarta Social and Culture Project. She then involved in Sustainable Living for Children Project between the Government of Indonesia and UNICEF (1990-1995), and as an encyclopedia editor at PT. Ichtiar Baru Van Hoeve (1995-1998).
She joined the firm since it’s establishment in 2001, as an Office Manager the oversees Finance and Human Resource Division. She currently serves as Administration and Finance Director.

Yustiman Ihza earned his Bachelor Degree in Literature from University of Indonesia in 1995. Then he earned his Master of Arts Degree in 1999 and followed by Doctor of Philosophy Degree in 2004, both in Communication Science from Universiti Sains Malaysia.
He once worked at Kompas Daily Information Center (1995-1997) and a lecturer of Literature Faculty at University of Indonesia (1995-2005). Then become a lecturer of Master Program in Leadership Administration and National Defence Study (2013-2014) at University of Indonesia. He joined the firm in October 2013 as a Corporate Secretary.
