Born in Belitung, February 6, 1958
Dr. Yusron Ihza is one of the founding partners of Ihza & Ihza Law Firm who currently holds the Managing Partner position at the firm. He graduated from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Indonesia (1986) and obtained his Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from the University of Tsukuba, Japan in 1992. He afterwards received his Doctoral (Ph.D) degree in Philosophy in Law from University of Tsukuba in 1999.
Prior to participating in the establishment of Ihza & Ihza Law Firm, Dr. Yusron was firstly acknowledged as the Researcher at LPEM University of Indonesia (August 1986-July 1990). At the same time he was a lecturer in the Faculty of Economics, Muhammadiyah University. He was then appointed as Correspondent for Kompas Daily Newspaper based in Tokyo Japan (1994-present); Visiting Researcher in TARA Project, University of Tsukuba (April 1997-March 1998); and Advisor for Ministry of Industry and Trade of The Republic of Indonesia (October 2001-October 2002). Dr. Yusron was also a University Lecturer in Tokyo, Japan. He has published books and articles in various publications and has been a speaker for many seminars and workshops in both national and international level.
Presently, Dr. Yusron serves as the Deputy Chairman of Commission I for National Defense of House of Representative of Republic of Indonesia (2004-2009). Due to this appointment, he is also temporarily non-active in the firm.
His area of practices encompasses Business Law, Japanese Law, Investment and Political Economy.
